2016 Recipient of the Heather Crowe Smoke-Free Ontario Award

The OMSC was awarded the Heather Crowe Smoke-Free Ontario Award in Toronto on May 31, 2016. This award honours anti-smoking advocates who have made a significant contribution toward achieving a Smoke-Free Ontario over the past decade.

2013 Minister’s Medal Honour Role

The OMSC was recognized on the 2013 Honour Roll for the Minister’s Medal Honouring Excellence in Health Quality and Safety. The program was one of seven quality improvement initiatives that made the Honour Roll, in recognition of outstanding performance in the areas of collaboration, improvement in outcomes, and value for quality care.


2013 Leading Practice Designation from Accreditation Canada

The OMSC was recognized by Accreditation Canada in 2013 as a leader for innovation and quality improvement with program information currently available on the Accreditation Canada Leading Practice Database. This Database provides an opportunity for sharing innovative practices from health organizations nationally and internationally.

Accreditation Canada recognizes programs implemented by organizations with limited resources, showing how innovative and creative strategies can achieve positive results at a minimal cost.
